PETAA Paper 193, Developing intercultural understanding through Asian-Australian children’s literature and the Victorian Lesson Plans have importantly led the way in advocating Asian-Australian literary texts. However, it’s time to more fully celebrate the inclusion of such an important category of the Nation’s cultural heritage.
The workshop will examine the leading practices of our Asian-Australian novelist, poets, and playwrights to better understand their themes, styles and cultural values.
The workshop is framed to encourage our students to understand the depth and breadth of the work.
